The Caro String Quartet, supported by Jessica Hitchcock from Saibai Island, performing Schulthorpe’s “Island Dreaming” quartet. This piece is rarely performed, and provided a fusion of traditional Torres Strait songs and contemporary chamber music to portray a highly evocative image of life in the Strait.
Four students - Sarah Hayes, Felipe Lebensold, Amarin Siri and Danielle Tuazon along with lecturers Prof. Martin Nakata (Nura Gili), Stephen Moore, Prof. Richard Stuetz, went to spend a week in the most remote and beautiful place they had ever seen.
This is the past Planning Sustainable Infrastructure Showcase from 2014. The students examined the environmental issues associated with the proposed Ranger uranium mine extension in Kakadu.
